BUN - Blood Urea Nitrogen

BUN - Blood Urea Nitrogen is the main breakdown product of proteins and the form in which nitrogen is excreted from the body in the  urine.

BUN - Blood Urea Nitrogen. A marker of kidney function. May be elevated due to dehydration, poor kidney function, high protein intake, fatty liver, catabolic stress. May be decreased due to inadequate protein intake or protein malabsorption, liver disease, overhydration, and B6 deficiency.
